My Story
I'm Maral and MJ Skincare & Beauty is the result of two passions finally coming together.
I grew up in Iran and moved to the Netherlands in 2016. For several years, I worked full-time in a completely different field, first at Mattek, then at Össur. But alongside that career, I kept discovering the same thing: my real passion was in creativity, beauty, skincare, and working closely with people.
Finding my Path
My journey into the beauty industry started small, with manicure and pedicure training. But it didn't take long to realize that skincare and advanced beauty treatments were where my heart truly was. I went on to complete my MBO Niveau 3 – Schoonheidsspecialist diploma in the Netherlands, training in skincare, facials, massage, hand and foot care, and anatomy and physiology.
Wanting to go further, I continued with Niveau 4 training at Sayna College, specializing in acne treatments, acid therapies, professional peels, anti-aging treatments, and laser and advanced skincare techniques. That same passion later led me to become an Assistant Docent at Sayna College, where I now help train the next generation of skincare specialists.
Discovering mindfulness
Alongside my beauty training, I've always had a deep interest in psychology, self-awareness, and mental well being. Over time, I realized that skincare and mindfulness aren't so different; both are about slowing down and truly caring for yourself. That led me to train in Mindfulness Coaching, and later in MBSR (Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction).
That combination, skincare and mindfulness, became the idea behind MJ Skincare & Beauty.
MJ Skin & Beauty - My Vision
I wanted to create more than a place for beauty treatments. I wanted a space where you can slow down, care for your skin, be present in the moment, and give yourself time that's truly your own.
For me, beauty isn't only about appearance. It's about caring for your skin, your mind, and how you feel about yourself.
That's the experience I hope every client takes with them from MJ Skincare & Beauty.
